The Woods

This series captures fleeting moments in the Cornish woodlands, collected over years of quiet observation and reflection. The collection represents a passage through time.

Some days, I feel grounded and still, noticing the delicate details: a droplet on a leaf, the texture of moss, the quiet life unfolding in miniature. Other times, the woods feel vast and overwhelming — a blur of motion, sound, and fleeting impressions that I can’t quite hold onto.

The Woods explores this shifting experience — the contrast between presence and disorientation, focus and flux. Every return to these woods brings with it echoes of previous visits: thoughts that once raced, feelings now softened by time, and the quiet transformation of the seasons. This project is ongoing as I will always return to the woods for solitude.
