This seaweed photography project captures the dreamy, ethereal beauty of seaweed, inviting viewers to explore its subtle, otherworldly aesthetic. Through carefully curated images, the project draws parallels between the human form and seaweed, shifting the narrative from man as trespassers in nature to beings intricately connected with it. The sequence of images reflects the influence of lunar tides, highlighting seaweed in clear waters and in the context of foraging from rock pools. This gentle, intimate practice is encouraged as a simple, accessible way to reconnect with nature, as demonstrated by my close friend, who serves as the face of the project. Through our time together, gathering seaweed, the project explores the silent yet deep bond he shares with the outdoors—his connection to nature mirrored in the delicate forms of seaweed. This project has blossomed into a beautiful exploration of friendship, the outdoors, and the profound, almost quiet, relationship we have with the natural world.
