The Land We Left Behind

This series captures a journey into the untamed beauty of South Africa’s Wild Coast, where rewilding meets resilience. Originally a commissioned project to showcase a retreat envisioned by medicine woman Bianca Verne’s, it became an immersive experience in solitude, survival, and connection to the earth. Welcomed by the villages of Noqhekwane, we stepped into a world of tradition before retreating to a remote cave—four strangers facing the elements, testing our limits in the lingering force of a passing hurricane. These images tell a story of nature’s power, human endurance, and the profound transformation that comes with surrendering to the wild.
